Our review article titled Understanding vaginal microbiome complexity from an ecological perspective officially went to press today! This has been available in draft version for several months, but the final version is included in the October 2012 issue of Translational Research. This is a special issue on the human microbiome including other reviews on the gut and lung microbiomes, and even our human virome!
(I must gripe, however, about the theme title: “Of Microbes and Men: Challenges of the Human Microbiome”. One of the five reviews is about VAGINAS. Gender sensitivity should trump a not-all-that-clever-and-actually-rather-overwrought Steinbeck reference. IMO.)
